Here are more shots of the Night Strikers.

Dio: Night Strikers!

June 6, 2008

Night operations are said to be tricky. Troops can get lost. Enemy ambushes have a high probability. Chances of blue-on-blue are high. In sum, it takes special training for soldiers to conduct operations at night.

Among the elite G.I.Joe team, a unit with night ops capability was organized, called Night Force. Though I agree with the original composition of the unit, I still think some Joes need to be included (except for Flint and Beach Head, who I have still included in this alternative group). Here’s my version of Night Force, which I call “Night Strikers.”

The Night Stalkers deploy from the Joes’ forward bases at dusk.

The team travels in the third version of the AWE (All Weather and Environment) Strikers, which are modified buggies with top-mounted 40mm grenade launchers with sophisticated targetting systems suited for night ops.

In the lead vehicle are Pathfinder, whose navigational skills are unquestioned, and Lowlight, the Joes’ resident night ops expert.

In the second vehicle is the team leader, Flint, whose expertise include insertions into enemy territory and hostage/POW rescues. Backing him up is the Ranger Beach Head, noted for his small unit tactics.

I’m still thinking of an appropriate motto. The 160th SOAR already has, “We Own the Night!”

Any suggestions?
